Anyone running just a filter on their turbo?

If so, which one?

Does it scream?

You probably could, but I'm sure the reason for the housing and the plumbing is to get the air intake away from the heat of the engine. That is why they have the tubes to pull from the fender well. Also the reason the Scotty II housings are designed for a hole cut into the cowling.....fresh cold air.

I have had my air filter mounted right on the turbo for about 2 years know with no problems . If you really want to hear the turbo whistle this is the best way to go .

K&N makes one that will fit it has to have a 4" opening to get it on the turbo it will be tight and it can't be too long or it will hit the alternater . I will try later this day and try and find you some part # 's

I just took out the factory airbox but kept the rubber hose from the turbo. Use a short piece of 4" PVC pipe from the rubber to a K&N with a 4 1/2" opening. I made a simple bracket and bolted it to the stock threaded inserts on the inner fender and hose clamped it to the pipe to keep it from bouncin. Works good.

I was just curious, not trying to make accusations. Figured the 125hp injectors couldn't help. Just curious how well it worked. I've seen stock inlet tube used with stock box removed and an aftermarket filter to it and most trucks are pretty hot with mild injectors. Having the filter right on the turbo is a straighter shot and less restrictions since there is no tube, just closer to the heat of the engine. It would make sense to me that you'd be a little hot with 125hp inj without the help of cold air routed from the fender or cowl.
