Anyone install CAB CLEARANCE LIGHTS?!? PIC inside...

Hi, I'm going to be installing some cab clearance lights on my truck soon but I don't have a template. I was just wondering if anyone has done it themselves, maybe you can take a look at this pic and tell me if these are the right holes to drill for the lights. Thanks!

I helped a friend of mine install a set on his '98 3/4t that came from the factory without them. The only holes we had to drill where on the outside of the cab, for the wire and screws. He bought his clearance light kit from the dealer for around $145.00 and it came with the template that you lay over the top of the cab.

Hmm.... So you don't remember whether the holes you drilled on the outside of the cab ended being in the exact same position as the holes I circled in the pic?

Can someone do me a favor and just make a real quick measurement from outside the cab? If you can give me the measurements from the top of the windshield to the center cab light (1), further out cab light (2), and furthest out cablight (3) that would be great! Below is a pic of what I'm talking about.

Ah thanks. I went ahead and installed them yesterday anyway. Turned out pretty good. My measurements were about the same + 1.00".

Is the wiring harness there already or I have to run it from somewhere in the dash up to the ceiling ?

Yes thanks but my question is:

Is the harness up to the roof already installed from factory or do I have to purchase it separate ?

It is not there already... If you have to make one, about 20 feet of 18 gauge wire from Home Depot will do.

Wink

Halerazor is right on. Just installed mine in the 98 3/4ton and it works like a charm to drill from the inside out. Use that first hole for the wires and then measure for the other holes to make sure they are straight and even. Then Tap into the light switch. THey look awesome! Enjoy!
