Anyone heard of this GEAR LUBE????
A buddy of mine turned my onto this stuff for my DIFF'S, but I want to know if it's ok for the tranny (6 MANUAL).<br> Here is the name and spec's.<br><br>870 RED SUPREME<br>870 Red Supreme lubricants meet or exceed the following requirments for the respective viscosity grades:<br><br>U.S. Steel Spec 224<br>GL-5<br>MIL-L-2105E<br>Mack GO-H<br>John Deere J11D<br>Navstar (IHC) Grades 81 HR, 90HR, 135 HEP<br>Rockwell 0-76 ( A,B,C,D,F)<br>GM Spec 9985044<br>Chrysler MS 9020<br>Ford EST-M2C-108-C<br>MT-1<br><br>I'm sure it will work fine in the diff's, but the owner's manual is VERY STEARN on using ONLY MOPAR P/N 000000000000 fluid for the tranny.<br>This stuff is made in Rockwall, Texas by Horizon Lubracants corp.<br>Any thought's?

Rear end lubes are generally bad news for transmissions becuase the extreme pressure lubricants that they contain are corrosive to brass. If you think it's hard to shift now, wait 'til the synchros corrode away. You should stick to something made especially for manual transmissions for best trans life and shifting. I put Redline MTL in my Getrag last weekend and am happier than a pig in you-know-what.
