anybody with 5" ran out in front of the tire??

I'm gonna be trying a B1 on my truck in a few days & just to save the hassle of hooking up the downpipe to my current exhaust, I was thinking of pulling all my 4" & getting a 4"-5" adapter & then turning the 5" out in front of the wheel, it won't be perminant if I decide to go ahead & keep the B1 I'll probably run it back out behind the wheel, but just to save some cutting & such on my current exhaust I thought I might rig something like this up for a few $ & possibly save myself some headaches later, just in case. so back to the original ?? does anybody have a setup like this, & how loud is it??, I'll be running it straight piped & I wondered if it would be bearable, should sound wicked if I can stand the noise??? just wondered, thanks Dusty

I have 4" straight pipe coming out there. Its loud but tolerable, 5" will probably be the same just with a lower tone and some more drone. It'll stain your paint and your wheel too.

I have stock size straight pipe in front of the wheel... It is pretty loud with the window down, and defiantely louder than stock with it up, but not anoying at all. My wife and I have made several road trips in it, and she slept in the passanger seat just fine at 80...

IT WILL BE LOUD DUSTY!!!

The downpipe for the B1 should hook right to your 4" system. You still have the regular 4" downpipe that fit the stocker right??

I think it should hook up!

why not just run 5" out the back? doesn't matter what turbo you end up with, you can still run the same exhaust

Chris, yeah I still got the banks downpipe, but the system is a little hacked up from the previous exhaust brake & the 3 different trucks it's been on, I've got it all working well together, just not sure if it will fit all that good if the B1 downpipe doesn't come out at exactly the same place as mine?? just wanted to fab up something temporary, but not too terrible looking, & I want 5" for sure, planning on 5" behind the tire, but I'm gonna sell my setup first, so this temporary exhaust needs to work well for a couple weeks to a month or so, thanks for the replys, Dusty

Like I said...It "Should" come out at the same place as stock. IIRC, right at the tranny crossmember.
