ok ok all this talk about this smarty programmer is starting to make me want one. What id really like to have is the mad ecm, cause i could get one cheap if i could find it. Anyways, back to the smarty. I find it a little difficult to break my tires loose in 3rd on my nv5600. i have to slip my DD clutch to get them spinning. And even then sometimes it will still not break traction and hook up instead.

My question is will the smarty fix this? will it let me smoke my duals easier? i hate slipping me clutch like that.

but of course thats not the REAL reason i want one.... i would like the responsiveness too.

 

I've gotten a few third gear scratches but no genuine tire spinning(don't feel like burning off my 33" BFG M/T's anyhow) and today I got my first 4th gear scratch.

rolling start, power brake in 3rd gear can usually light up the tires real good but I could do that before the Smarty.

Smarty/DD3's is what I'm running.

 

i just got my smarty yesterday,i have a comp and 130 injectors like yours and belive me you will be smokin those duals,my clutch wont hold for me,you will build boost instantly and it shoots off like a rocket all the way to 3500rpms,theres no more 2700 defuling,the responsiveness with the smarty on #8 and your comp on 5/5 will smoke those tires as you have a clutch that will hold it,#9 feels to me like my comp on 5/2.the smarty rocks with a comp

will the smarty work by itself,i have an edge ez will it work with that.

 

I would sell the Edge EZ and get the Smarty if you are interested in it... really the difference is night/day and I do not think you need or want an Edge EZ with a Smarty.

I have the catcher (smarty#9) and mach 1.6s and I have zero problem busting loose in 3rd just mashing the fuel. and if i hit a bump in 4th at WOT i will brake traction right now.the nice thing with the smarty is you can tone it down in the winter, or forget WOT runs in 6th you will do the slippery slide

 

I have no problem busting loose with the smarty and m4's, but unfortunately it is my clutch that is busting loose not the tires I'll have a SBC DD in there soon and then the fun can begin

The more you talk about it, the more that sounds like a perfect combo for those who don't want to swap turbos- 1.6+smarty+clutch/tranny work
