Am I missing any of the free/low budget stuff?????

I been playing with my truck now (even though I said I wasn't gonna) and what to know what else I could do to it (free/cheap stuff). So far I did gauges, 4k gsk, boost elbow, removed silencer ring, drilled holes in air box, 100 plate, grinded afc foot/mod, slide housing and plate forward, straight pipe in place of muffler/cat, tc switch, and I think thats about it. I know I need to do the KDP. New down pipe and 5" exhaust is coming w/ BHAF next month. Whats next am I missing any other cheap stuff? TIA Ken

Mod your VB- I think you are in the realm of slipping now and you could get more power to the ground with more line pressure (less slippage) and make your tranny live longer. (Naturally a fully built auto would be nice but it's far from free) A shift kit wouldn't set you back too much.

You could add a Mack plug to the front of your injection pump, that'll give you more racktravel which = more fuel...

I was under the impression that more line pressure would kill the stock converter. And yes a fully built trans will come after I end this one.

Look on tst website for a great how-to on the tc lock switch. Its very simple, I did it in less than 1 HR. Also I don't spin the motor to 4k, it seems like there's not that much power after 3200rpm, so I let it shift on its own and i'm happy with that.

More line pressure won't kill the stock TC but may kill some piston seals. The key is to adjust the pressures to the upper limit of the factory service manual. If your tranny has a lot of miles or years on it some values go out of whack. Not enough to be noticed in shifting but enough to make a difference. If you spend 99 US$ on the service manual and some bucks on the two pressure gauges and some hoses you'll be able to adjust your tranny so that it'll hold up much better.
