The main benifit to an intake on a diesel is lowering your EGTs...

It is not really a significant gain if anything at all.

Well, Scotty is a member on DTR and a cool guy.

AFE is not a member and will probably not tear your arms out of your sockets if you buy from a competitor... Scotty, on the other hand...

Realistically, they're both about the same. But the Scotty is more of a hardcore, "I know what I'm doing and I'll run you over" product whereas the AFE is a "yeah, uhm, I got money to get some babes please, over here, please" product.

Nobody's unsatisfied with either one... Just play einy-meiny-miney-moe...

scotty is an enclosed filter and the afe just sit out there. you can cut a hole in the firewall for both. the only bad thing i've had with my afe is i had an exhaust leak at the turbo and the soot covered my filter and it colapsed.

The main benifit to an intake on a diesel is lowering your EGTs...

Which allows you to dump more fuel in to get better performance.

I currently have a AFE but it is only a drop in OEM replacement for now. Maybe after a couple of years of payments, then I plan on going with Scotty.

Besides, how can you go wrong with a name like SCOTT.

Pulling arms out of sockets, holding people in an MMA submission hold is all good sales tactics.

Thats what I am all about...LOL

Seriously, thanks for all the compliments. After 8 yrs of developing the product and many MANY different obstacles, I know that this intake works and does what we claim.
Many folks have doubted it and now have the Scotty 2 on their trucks. I never once said; "Told ya so." If someone doubts the performance of it, so be it, theres other options out there.

Here is something I have been getting told recently, the Scotty 2 had improved mileage by 1-2 mpg. Folks on this board are the ones reporting these results.
I thought I saw 1/2-1 mpg improvement on my 01 truck but the primary claim was the reduced exhaust gas temperatures.

thanks again!

Just make your own. I did, and it is easy. You will need some Black ABS plastic piping (my '02 used 4'') and the appropriate elbows. Then just get a cone style filter to clamp on the end. I made mine for a total of $75 including filter. It took about 15 minutes to make. I am getting about 1.4 MPG better fuel milage, and lowered my EGT's. If you need pics I can post some up over the weekend.
