aftermarket lift pump?

With my factory lift pump I am running 7-8 psi at idle and when I start to get on it I pull it right down to 0. My friend highly recomends the fass system, but I was looking for other options. I would like something more like a factory replacement.

Sounds like everyone that trys different replacement lift pumps(campain, holly, carter etc) end up not lasting very long until fuel pressure drops again and the pump is shot.

There is the Fass system and the Walbro pump kit from Glacier. Im going with the walbro next.

Here is the part number for the Cummins campain pump you get from a Cummins dealer pn 4090046, its only $65. It might be a good option for you.

I was going to get a campain pump to replace my second LP that is pn 3990105 from cummins at $156 .

Are all of the aftermarket lift pumps rail mounted? I would like to find a lift pump that I could bolt and plug right in to the location of the factory one. I have been looking around and it doesn't look like anyone makes what I'm looking for.

I went to usdieselparts.com and they had a "high performance" lift pump. It seems to me like a factory replacement pump. Is it just a stock pump or will it give me more fuel pressure? I need enough to keep up with my juice/attitude. I'm trying to keep away from new lines and relays and stuff.

And you may never find one. Electric pumps are great at pumping not sucking. Epecially not good at sucking fuel from several feet away. That's why the stock pump relocated on the frame near the tank works pretty well.

Me........I have the Walbro from Glacier.

OK that would be why the pumps are mounted in the rear of the truck. Also with the fass system the filters are mounted in a cool spot instead of the engine compartment. I looked at Glacier and it seemed that they didn't list anything for older trucks (mine is a 99). Also the walbro seems harder to install. I have a walbro pump in my car, for about 4 years with no problems.
