Aftermarket Bumper Question

I've been considering an after market bumper for years. One thing I have always wondered was how much of a pain is it to work under the hood with the grill guard being in your way? I am leaning towards a DOR and Layne said he hasn't heard any complaints about it.

Thanks,
Dan

I stand on mine and it works out better for me especially with 4wd.

When you say stand, do you mean standing and bending at the waist? I couldn't imagine doing an IP swap from a standing position. Or do you mean kneeling?

Thanks,
Dan

It has it's plusses and minuses. Just did a VP swap, and most of the time you are off to the side. But there are times that it is a pain to deal with it. Mine has a step, as most do. But I am in HEAVY deer country all the time, so it is worth the convenience/inconvenience.

I used to just sit/lay on mine when I needed access from the front. Now I just use a topside creeper, problem solved! In all seriousness, it has never been any more of an issue than working with the stock bumper in my opinion. You would think the bumper would be in the way, but it's not.

Well, stand if you need to but mostly sit on it or the engine bay and put my feet in/on it. Its also in deer country and I would hate to be without it, my dad actually hit another deer a few weeks ago.
