hahaha, no it alone will not hurt ur trans, and if ur truck already smokes it'll make it smoke less, more air = less wasted fuel, faster spool up maybe a little more power and better mpg is all u should really notes, but well worth the investment, u did get a dry filter though right?

welcome to dtr. nice choice with the intake, but an intake helps more air go in so that will lean your truck out a little, causing it to burn more of the fuel. so it will actually smoke a little, and your turbo will be louder, spool up quicker and your fuel economy should go up. since you have a 24v and it has an electronically controlled injection pump the vp44 the only way to make you truck smoke is by buying a box, chip or programmer, i would recommend a smarty or van aaken, but those should make you truck smoke, but they will hurt your stock auto transmission. depending on how you drive. but the intake will be fine.

all it will do is lower the egt's a tiny bit and make it louder. you can't suck the stock filter in with 350hp, so 235 ain't gonna hurt it. food for thought the bhaf is cheaper and filters better.

I put it on my stock 06 and it has a stock auto transmission. I really noticed the power. The turbo is a lot louder and its incredibel how fast it spools. I also get 15-16 mpg in the city and 19-20 on thge highway. The exhaust is also louder and it does smoke more. Its cool though.

I even took off the top cover to make it louder, and it was barely noticeable

If it came with the ProGuard 7... call RIP at Source Automotive. Get the Blue racing filter (5 layers instead of 7).
Still filters very well and flows much better..... and louder

Wow...any louder and you'll need to just cut a hole in the cab to funnel the noise directly in. My BHAF made the whistle more noticeable....when I put the AFE Stage 2 on it, it went MUCH louder. I can hear turbo whistle all the time now.

Only way to go louder is to add the Scotty II hole in the cowl.

Had to give up my Scotty II when I went to twins. But search of my archives revealed...

Can just see edge of the hole on cowling. It takes a 4-4.5" hole saw. Don't need the Scotty II to get the benefit (and the noise) from the hole.
'Diesel-Dan' & I fabricated his AFE Stage 2 to suck air from the cowl hole. Attached a piece of 4" Al tubing to a 4" hole in back of his AFE... straight to the cowling hole. Worked well!

#1 Remove the silencer ring from the turbo intake with a flat head screwdriver

#2 use a hole saw to cut a whole in the cowl right next to the intake (like the scotty)

#3 replace stock tube with afe torquetube (might not work with the stage 2)

These all are noise not power for those who want noise. I ended up giving my torquetube away
