AFE Air Induction System ??

Anyone use one of these ??

Stage 1, or Stage 2 ??

LINK : http://www.rpmoutlet.com/dodgec01.htm

Please post which one you have, and the results you've noticed if any such as Power and fuel mileage

They claim 23 hp, and 2 mpg better than stock. Is this true ?

I'm thinking of getting one of these, and I need advise to which one to go for.

Thanks !!!!

You are not really going to see a 23 HP from an air filter/intake....

You need more fuel + more air to make HP...these intakes simply allow the engine breath better (and are usually accompanied with a 4 inch or larger exhaust system)

I have the stage 1 and it does spool faster than stock but I would say if you are lookin' for horses wrong product. one thing for sure it is loud! As for milage my truck went from 16 to 18 with the addition of a K&N drop in and superchips tuner, I added the stage 1 and a van aaken at the same time and now am up to 22mpg in town and now for the shocker 24 an the highway. I feel that my milage is due to the increased timing from the stack boxes. the main benefit is lower egt's

btw since you have a superchips tuner with the van aaken stacked and the superchips on perf/tow the bottom hit is twice again what the super does alone, so if you find a buy on one you will be pleased it still defuels at the very top but the turbo spools unbelievably quick

So let me get this right.....

You had a K&N drop in and superchips tuner, and you were at 18mpg.

Then you got rid of the superchips, and went to a van aaken and a stage 1 to get 22mpg ??

Or did you install the Van aaken along with the Superchips ??

If so, aren't they both trying to do the same thing ?? I guess without knowing anymore than that, I don't see what that would do for benefit.

Please elaborate...........

runnin' both at the same time. the va with the super on perf/tow is amazing off the bottom, if you run the super in performance mode it ends up like perf/tow off the line but never quits pulling hard, no dead pedal off idle, personally I like to run perf tow so I can be quick off the line and nice to my clutch at the same time, that setting also allows me to turn the va off via the switch it comes with (I bought mine used so it might be an option I dunno for sure) I see no ill effects at startup although it has not been winter here, it does surge a bit if you try to soft foot it going 30-40mph, Ijust leave it off till one of those little coffee can cars gets on my nerves or when I hit the highway cause it helps my mileage, and at $2.70 a gallon I will take all the help I can get.

I installed the stage 1 and gained 1 mpg empty, 18.5 stock/19.5 with afe stage 1. I gained 1 mpg towing my 32' TT 10 mpg stock/11 mpg afe. I check my milage every tank. With the afe you can sure hear the turbo sing.
