Adrenaline and Commander FP Kits are Ready!!

Well, sort of!

We recieved a totally un-expected shipment of a bunch of transducers today. We were not really expecting them until sometime after the first of the year!

The bad news is that our wiring harnesses are not due here until next Tuesday or Wednesday.

So, long story short, our order forms should be up on the web by the end of the day. Once you order them we will call you back and give you a RMA# to put on your shipping package so it goes to the right deparment when it gets here. We should be able to turn these around the same day we recieve them.

Pricing and detail should be on the order form.

If we left anything out or if you have questions please let me know.

Right now we have a large amount of them but, no an unlimited supply! If you want one, the faster you get them to us the better.

So I bought a Commander and the FP kit and the FP transducer proves faulty. Went through 2 transducers and Quadzilla says they have been having a lot of problems with the 40psi transducer. They said they would have a fix for it soon (months ago) and would make it right for all people that have been dealing with this problem. I bought my Commander EXPRESSLY for monitoring fuel pressure and I had to go out and try to find my own transducer so I wouldn't be driving my truck around without a FP gauge. Spent some serious money on this Commander module and FP kit and couldn't even use it for months on end. Now that you have a fix for YOUR faulty transducer I'm supposed to spend an extra $45 for a new transducer AND send you my Commander to fix it?

That sounds like throwing good money after bad. You guys need to fix this problem for free for all of us unsuspecting people that thought they were getting a quality unit from a company that stands behind their goods. Or give me all of my money back.

Rant complete..... Fire away.....

I have a commander and FP sending unit that went out in the FIRST batch that hit the market..(first batch of commander, I had to wait another month for the FP kit).and guess what...I am still running that SAME FP sending unit with a ROCK SOLID 19 psi @ idle, 16-17 normal driving and (the ever so small flicker of 12) usually 14 psi WOT...

I thought I had problems once before...but in hind sight it was one of two problems both ironed out now.

1. IP..FLUX (PLUSE) causing irratic readings...add NEEDLE VALVE..fixed
2. BAD BATTERY CONNECTIONS...TIGHTEN them up...FIXED.

Quad honered my request to have another 40psi sending unit sent to me at a 10 dollar charge...and that unit is still sitting in the box ready (IF EVER) I need it.

Quad I am sure you thought to or actually tried a needle valve, I know it sounds wierd because an electical sending unit shouldnt need it (in theroy right) but hey it worked flawlessly for me...maybe you should run some more tests with a needle valve and the 40psi sending unit...you might be suprised at what you find.

I agree. The main reason I went with the commander was also the fuel pressure monitoring. I ended up spending money on the fuel pressure kit and then spent more money to replace it with a liquid filled mechanical gauge (that has run flawlessly for quite some time now).

And, yes, I also agree that isolating and running the needle valve would most likely have helped the earlier sending units last longer, but I didn't get offered a free replacement when mine failed. I ended up spending only about $50 on everything I needed to hook up the mechanical gauge.

I would really like the fuel pressure reading on my Commander to be operational, but after spending $80-90 on the original fuel pressure kit, then another $50 on a mechanical setup, plus the headache, $45 seems like a bit much to throw blindly at a unit that is not proven.

No, you don't have to. You can send in your faulty sending unit and we will replace it. If that one fails you are free to get another replacement.

I know the numbers on these failures and they really are not that high. Heck I am running one of the 0-40psi sensors as well as the guys at my shop are running them.

Long story short, we are offering an upgrade. If you want to take advantage of it, great. If not, that is also great.

If you bought a transducer that will work, you don't need to do this. If you bought a transducer that is something other than a 0-40psi sensor with a different ohm range then it is reading wrong.

Spent some serious money on this Commander module and FP kit and couldn't even use it for months on end.
So egt, boost, transmission temp, and coolant temp all don't work? I thought you said you bought your own transducer?

Does it work or not? If it works, what are you doing here?

Now that you have a fix for YOUR faulty transducer
Thats the problem, I have to rely on someone else to make them. It would be a whole lot easier for me to tell you to go call Datcon and complain that THEIR sending unit failed you. I don't do that, I just eat them if they go bad and spend a lot of time, effort and money to get an alternative unit, that gets sold for less than my cost in it to people with existing FP sending unit kits.

That is why we are not selling this stuff through dealers or distribution. Cost would be astronomical if we tried to do that.

That sounds like throwing good money after bad. You guys need to fix this problem for free for all of us unsuspecting people that thought they were getting a quality unit from a company that stands behind their goods. Or give me all of my money back.
First and foremost your parts have a warranty, like any other parts or products you will buy for your truck or not. We will stand mehind them 100%. That does not mean we are going to offer you an upgraded, more expensive product for free.

I will also be happy to tell you that calling someone out on a forum and ranting away is not a good way to get anything done. If you have a problem, issue or concern an email or phone call is 110% more professional and you might actually get somewhere.

So you have three choices.

1.) Use the FP sending unit you are using now
2.) Send in your 0-40psi unit with an RMA# and get it replaced
3.) Buy the upgrade and follow the directions for the upgrade off of the site.

I will only speak for my PERSONAL experience....

I CALLED...and very professionally and respectfully SPOKE to "Summer","Spring","Fall","Winter" lol...really it was Summer (I think) and Justin (I think) lol...point is I SPOKE with someone.

I explained my at the time problem, which I truly thought was a faulty sending uint...

They COMPLETELY understood, and VERY PROFESSIONALLY explained to me that "SORRY for the inconvienance, and Sorry for this further inconvienance but we are out of stock...be patient, give me your contact info if it has changed since your warrenty card WAS SENT IN, and when they arrive we will ship one out to you"

they NEVER ONCE TOLD ME IT WAS FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they told me I was going to be responsible for shipping which was 10 dollars...which I found to be a displeasure, but I understood...UPS didnt send me a bad part, they sent me "A" part and would charge QUAD to send me "A"nother..QUAD stood by THERE PART not UPS's SHIPPING....

with that being the case I can see and understand why things dont always come FREE....

so to sum this up...if I may QUAD...

I think the message is....

If you want to replace your existing sending unit...the OLD style...they will replace it for equal value...you may or may not be out the shipping....

If you want to upgrade to a NEW product which is in NO way the same as the other...you will incur a NEW price.

humble thoughts and explaination regards,

NCA

But it is the choice of quadzilla to put a warranty on thier products and if they have something that is faulty and is still under warranty they should replace it free of charge to the original purchaser whether it cost them more to be reliable or not, the end user shouldnt have to pay for something that they already paid for and purchased with a warranty. Thats what the warranty is for. im not trying to stir the pot i just want a reliable fuel pressure sending unit that i paid for.

Oh, Am I suppose to be a cheerleader for you? I wasn't aware that was an obligation of mine???

Let's not go there on my experiences good or bad with your product. The internet being what it is, I can claim vast amounts of experience because my brother's friend's cousin told me about a guy in Texas that runs a Quad box... https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...ht=Rowing+RowJ

As for my which threads I comment on, it's none of your concern. You don't get to decide which threads I'm allowed to comment on. Your only luxury is to advice the owners or moderators if I've broken any of the site rules.

Have a good night Quad.

Ok...so using your thought process...and an analogy...if you purchased a new computer..sent in your warrenty card and had a faulty motherboard..and the maker told you send in your computer and we will replace it for you (either way pay for shipping or shipping at no cost) and you do or dont...but lets say you do...the maker is gonna send you the SAME COMPUTER YOU BOUGHT...either repaired or a brand new one...

what they will NOT do is have you send in your computer and send you back a different model computer that is NEW product, better, faster, stronger, new software etc etc.

I could see it similar to what your saying if say...Quad had a warrenty like a circut city or best buy or frys..."hey, pay 100 extra dollars at the time of purchase and we will warrenty your pruduct for x years..and should you have a problem and we dont carry that part/model we will replace it with the upgraded or new version product"

It never said that and I never payed for that type of coverage...LIKE FOR LIKE....with regards to warrenty coverage

I understand where your comming from...but those types of upgrades usually have a price tag assoicated with them...that is why when I purchased my 50" 1080p plasma TV I payed 325 more dollars for an UPGRADED warrenty...if anything happens to my TV and the store doesnt carry or samsung does make it anymore I get the NEXT TV UP from my ORIGIONAL MODEL.

it seems like you have a level head about this...that is the best thing...just play by the rules and good things happen...like QUAD has ALWAYS said, CALL HIM, EMAIL him (not PM) TALK TO HIM.....maybe something can be worked out...

I am in no way putting words in his mouth, but hey its worth 10 minutes of you day to find out.

Cooler heads prevail regards,

NCA

Yes, we will replace them with one like the original. We ARE NOT going to upgrade people for free.

Not only are the transducers considerably more expensive we have to add to the wiring harness and we also have to change hardware on the board. It is not a matter of us sending you a part.
