adj #5 plate

Does anybody have an idea how fare to move a #5 plate. I have about 1075 egt temp loaded pulling a hill, how far could I move the plate to the front safely. I am about in the middle now. Should I move it 1/2 way forword or what? And what is safe temp and what is to high. I would rather move the plate as few times as posible. All imput welcome.

Hello,

I would try moving it about 1/8", but make sure that you are still about 1/8" from full forward. I have read here that that is as far forward as most pumps will benefit from. Any more forward and you just make smoke and heat, not more power.

Bottom line = hard to answer question because all pumps react differantly.

just my .002 good-luck
