act clutch

is anyone running a Advanced Clutch Technology clutch in their truck. i have run act clutches for 5 years now in many race cars and have had no problems. id assume the diesel clutch would be up to par it says it will hold 993 ft/lbs torque.

Good luck trying to get any opinions on here for clutches other than South Bend.... I need to be careful what I write about South Bend on here, or I'll get another admin warning, but..... I'll just say this forum is very particular to South Bend....

I have never even heard of ACT clutches. Not that that says anything about their quality

SB makes good clutches. But they aren't the only ones that do

I've never heard of them either. but there has to be some waranty on it so I would say try it and see what it will hold. Then you could be the first to tell us how good it is.

not that anyone cares but.......when the import car scene took off big there were alot of clutch companys making high perf clutches. after a while people realized that these companys clutches werent holding up for one reason or another. along came act. everybody switched cause they werent breaking while everyone elses were. they basically forced all the other cos to step up their game. personally we have dynoed dynojet over 500+ hp and over 500ftlbs torque on drift cars where clutches get pounded into the ground. and thats with a little single 6 puck 225mm. they hold

according to the site they are claiming 993 torque with a 38% increase in clamp load.
they also have them listed for 01-03 6 speed
i hope i can find someone who has one so i can see what its like.

Still not personal experience, but they sure seem to know how to build a clutch to hold...

How was their customer service?

i had only one problem and it was a strap that broke. the strap was one that held the pressure plare surface in. they had me send it back and they over nighted me another free of charge.

im gonna contact them and see if they are offering any upgrades to this clutch. they usually offer everything with a xtreme pressure plate for more clamping force.also they usually offer all disks with or without springs and in puck styles.

If you have been happy with them in the past I see no reason to think you wouldn't be now.
