Yep, that's exactly it. If you need to adjust it for more travel, often you can just grab the pedal with both hands, and give it a little tweak in the up direction to put a slight bend in the pedal arm.

If this doesnt give you enough, there is an adjustment procedure in the manual for the rod between the injector pump and the throttle bellcrank (the thing on the side of the IP where the throttle cable attaches.)

ok sooo i check my brothers work on the 3gsk and the springs measured at 0.035 soo i tightened it up to 0.055and it did pull harder if i manually shifting it on the tree but when in drive it only came up 100rpm or so and i read that the factory setting is at 0.060, i dont have the instructions since my dad threw them out, sooo i dont know if they recommend going tighter or not.

can anyone let me know of the measurement im suppose to set it at?

And for the TV cable, im not to sure if i understand what they are asking me to check, both cables(throttle and trans) move at the same time and the trans cable is not being pulled at idle......so im guessing the TV cable is correct?

thanks again

A good starting point for the TV cable is, at idle, to have no tension on the cable and no slop either. From there you can adjust it a bit either way to suit your own tastes.

My truck has now has a 4GSK and it still wont rev to 3K in D, the tranny shifts too soon.

Tightening the cable raises the transmission's throttle pressure which makes the upshifts later and firmer. Loosening will make the shifts earlier and softer.

The adjustment is up at the engine end of the cable, but my truck is a 5 speed, so I can't get any pics for you.

thanks for the pictures but the tranny isnt shifting too soon since it get up to 2200rpm and stays there till the truck get to a certain speed and then it shifts.......this is only in D when the trans shifts 1-2-3 once its in 3rd gear it goes to 3g and then in OD it goes to 3g but not in 1st or 2nd

So we headed up the coquihalla hwy here in BC and wasnt pulling as good as i thought it would, soo we pulled over and moved the fuel plate full forward since the pyro was around 1100 and the plate was almost there anyways just a 1/16" away, and off we were again and it pulled better but once we hit the biggest hill there we took it out of OD and the trans went into 3rd then right to 2nd and the trans was cooking at 260ish (since our gauge only goes to 250) the whole way up.

So the first big problem is obviously the tq not locking up in 2nd soo im going to pick up a switch to make the lockup switch.

then the second is the shift kit since pretty much every single time we took it out of OD it went into third then right to second even though we had enough speed to pull 3rd, we would be doing 110ish and turn off OD then into third then right to 2nd then the truck slows down to about 80ish keeping our foot out of it since even though we can bring it up to 3g, it wouldnt up shift to 3rd and the trans temp would just sky rocket ......again this is with a transgo shift kit in the trans, what kits are you guy using? and does it sound like it doing the same or no. Monday i will be calling them and seeing if we can change things in there to make it stay in 3rd and make it upshift from 2-3 pullling up a hill.

and the only time the pyro hit 1300 was when it was in 2nd and getting closer to 3g at about 35psi, but if this thing stayed in 3rd or OD it hauled with the temp under control never seeing above 1200 on the pyro and staying at either 150 or 180 on the trans temp

I will also upload a few pics from under the hood
