My new two me 97 drove and shifted great at stock power levels. I have added a #10 plate, 4'exhaust, AFE, and gauges. 1st I am going to do the transmission do you think a valve body and converter kit will get me by? or do I need to just bite the bullet and buy a new trans?2nd with the mods the truck will shutter at WFO is this the Trans slipping or the Converter?? also I did the Converter lock switch and it will still shutter with it locked. I don't drive it more then 3 miles at a time just testing mods, so I dont think anything has been to hot. THANKs!

 

I run a transgo and a mojave green TC with good results, running a lot more fuel. No slippage and I've abused it as well as done 13 truck pulls.

 

goerend has the best priced deal on a full tranny with a triple disk..a full trans with the triple disc is $2850 100,000 mile warranty on trans and lifetime on the converter cost of the trans with the triple disc that has the 100,000 mile warranty is $2700...thats what im saving for for the summer

 

goerend will also tell you that you dont need a tripple for that truck. Run his single and valve body and you have yourslef a sturdy tranny...provided your internals are not cooked
