If the truck has a low idle, like around 600 RPMs or less, this can cause a lope. After I adjusted my governor springs, my truck had a lope till I bumped the idle up.

This

or if it has non stock injectors, (IE 370s) it can lope. Id suggest first checkin the idle as 97DR suggested..

Dont worry about it. It has the 160 pump, and it will lope a little. It shouldnt lope like it has a huge cam, but mine lopes enough that I have had people ask me about it. Idling in drive it sounds pretty mean I also know of 2 other people with 160 auto's that sound like mine. One has DV's and lopes a lot, and i think the other lopes a slight bit less. Just normal IMO. Maybe I can get a video of mine idling in drive...

Mine loped in "stock" form. Come to find out the Overflow valve was bad, lift pump wasn't we'll, low pressure, timing slipped, leaking fuel return and supply rubber lines.

Replaced all the above at the same time, timed to 15.5, lop all gone and ran much better.

I have wondered if maybe my lift pump is weak. My truck starts popping and sputtering at about 2800rpm, and wont pull any farther in drive. I can see it maybe not pulling any farther, but the sputtering shouldnt be normal. Did you ever have any sputtering jlipskoc?

Yep, had the sputter when i dynoed it after installing the 3k springs, that was the first time i found out it was doing that, daily driver i never had to rev it that high, plus the stock gov springs wouldn't rev that high.

The sputtering was from the timing slipped. Up it to 15-17 depending on your setup, egts were lowered, got better mpg, and sounded better also.

no mods yet, but in near future. would a stock turbo cool a zero plate at 16* timing?

Easily. I have a #0 in mine right now with the 3k and 16* timing. You can see that my dyno numbers are 281/693, and at the end of the 1/4 mile my EGT's are settled in right at 1300* and not really climbing any more. The timing helped a LOT though. My truck gets the hottest when you wrap it up past 2700rpm or so. Before the governor springs I couldnt even get it hot with a load so you wont have a problem, but I do suggest a GSK. It will REALLY wake up an automatic truck. Good luck, and just ask if you have any questions.
