94 newbie
hey there everyone. I'm moving on up from the 1st gen forum. i'm about to pick up a 89 ford with a cummins from a 94. i dont know much about 2nd gens so i was looking for some performance upgrades, common problems, or just any good info you guys have on these trucks. anything you got will be much appreciated!
Proper gauges are first. Include a fuel pressure gauge that reads to about 60 PSI. Then fuel plate, adjustable boost elbow, 3K GSK, and maybe some massaging of internal AFC parts. A user named Infidel has a cold air mod that connects the stock air box to the cowl and helps exhaust temps a good bit and is almost free. Maybe 150 to 200 dollars plus gauges will transform your stock truck. I have done everything but connecting the air box to the cowl and love it. Some vendors even sell most of this as a kit
Enjoy.
EDIT:
Forgot the most important one - ensure the killer dowel pin is fixed.
Enjoy.
