Question 93 Dodge/Cummins Air Filter Relocation??

Hi everyone!
This is my first post here so if I've screwed something up forgive me. But I think I'm in the right place in regards to getting some help on a problem that's been bugging me for some time now. My 2 wheel drive truck has a terrible rattle up in the passenger side, front section, somewhere under the hood. I have isolated the problem to be the air filter box which seems to wiggle all over the place. I have it shimmed up some to tighten it up and that has helped quiet this stubborn problem up some, not all the way, but at least I know I'm in the correct general area. I installed K&N air filer elements years ago and I have been happy with it's performance, no problems there. Anyway, here's the question(s):

Anyone else have rattling air filter boxes on 93's?
Is there some kind of kit for relocating some kind of air filter and getting rid of that ratty old box??
Any other suggestions in regards to my problem??

Thanks everyone for your help!! Chuck

I haven't heard of this problem before.
I am using a BHAF (Big Honkin' Air Filter, an open element filter bigger than the stock air box) on an Old Smoky BHAF mount. BHAF part #'s are in the tech facts section of the site. A template for making the mount can be found in Bumpytruck's photo gallery.

The only thing that rattles under my hood is the Cummins.

I bought my truck new and now have over 225,000 miles on it. The only thing ever's been wrong is the alternator and the water pump were replaced within the last year. This rattle makes me wanna spit nails....I've tried my darnedest to find and fix it. It got so bad that I was going to start taking things off, going for a test ride and if that wasn't it, just keep right on taking more stuff off. I took off the jack handle and lug wrench finally after all these years. I had nice Modern wheels put on it years ago so I don't know why I left em there. But they were tight and didn't make a peep. I shimmed the air box as it vibrates all over the place and now it's more stable and I swear the noise isn't as bad as often so that's why I figured it was that box. There's not really much else that could rattle around up there. If I have to, I'll take the hood off and have my friend drive the dang thing while I'm sitting up there SAFELY and see what the hell is making all the noise!! Hopefully it won't come to that but that's how determined I am on finding the culprit. I was going to take the box off and get some system going. I see you in quite a few threads on the subject when I did a search. I copied some pictures for ideas but I still think my problem is the airbox. When I take it off and then go for a test ride I'll know for sure. Thanks!! Chuck

The front bumper on my 93 rattles. I need to replace the bolts. Might look at that.

Just yank the airbox and go for a spin. Leave the filter & mounting plate intact, just remove actual box.

J_stickers has a good point, my bumper squeaks & rattles too. I tightened it up yesterday and it shut up.

Also the inner fender wells squeaked on mine. If you barely tapped on the fender, or shut the door, you could hear a squeak/rattle. I ended up putting a 2x4 on the inner fender well and giving it a few solid wacks. no more squeaks & rattles. (for now anyways)
