5000rpm 12v...
I'm curious as to this too, what all have you done to your truck to turn those RPM's Chris? I bumped my timing today to 18* and it runs alot better (my timing had slipped down to 3mm of lift) and now I really can't wait to get the new head and cam in and bump up the RPM's some more

It sounded GOOD up there
Hopefully, this winter I can build a new engine, and make it handle those kinds of R's!
Chris
In both videos, the driver had no time to react. I wasn't anticipating a broken trans shaft and Straley had no intentions of breaking either. You saw how much time it took in my video to figure out something was wrong and kill the engine? The instant the trans gave, the datalogger showed a gain of 2200 rpm in less than a second. It was still going up when the crank pickup failed.

Just thinking out aloud, if you normally turned say 5500 RPM max on a pull or run, you could put a 5700 chip in and then if an issue happened, it would pull the Normally Open solenoid open shut, removing fuel to the engine in a matter of milliseconds.
I'm sure you might have to use the rev limiter to pull in a relay and slow it down a little, but I couldn't see it taking more than 200 or so Ms to kill the fuel to the P-Pump
