4000gsk & killing kdp..

I bought the timing kit a while back and i was looking at killing the kdp and adding a 4000gsk to my 95 ctd. On the Tst Products website it tells you the 4000gsk requires heavy duty intake and valve springs. Then on the bottom of the page it list 60lb valve springs, are these the springs they are refering too? The 60lb springs are $78.00 do I just need 1 qty? Because it says..

"Two sets of valve springs (listed below, are highly recommended for the 4000 RPM kit)."

So would I need

2 60lb valve spring kits @ $78.00EA ?

Just wondering before i make an order, also are most you guys running 3000gsk or 4000gsk in your truck. Right now I have a 100 plate, star wheel turned all the way and plate is slid forward all the way. Straight pipe, custom intake and thats it. Im going to order gauges sometime soon as well.

Thanks,
Garrett

My 4k gsk set came with 12 new valve springs (60#). I didn't put them in 3 years ago with the gsk because I wasn't going to push the rpm above 3400. I haven't gone much past 3000, actually. But if you're going to hit 4000, you need the stronger springs or your valves will float.
Killing the kdp is also a great idea for your '95. You've been fortunate to dodge that bullet so far.

I would get gauges next. You are taking a big chance running that much fuel.

Who did you buy your gsk kit from? Tst makes it seem like you have to buy the 60# springs seperate?

Btw i know i need to get gauges ill probly order them or these parts and do everything at once. I bought the snap on timing kit 1.5 months ago and have yet to get around to it just busy all the time..

Im running a 4K minus the springs at the moment, u dont really need them unless ur gonna rev super high constantly...

Get ur gauges in first before u worry about the springs.. Im at 15K miles trouble free with stock springs, and i have hit 4000 rpms a time or two

From the description, TST sells 60lb valve springs in sets of 6 each. A reason for only 6 springs is for the people with exhaust brakes. They only need a set on the exhaust valves to maximize the exhaust brake.

GET AN EGT GAUGE INSTALLED!
You're already running hot with the added fuel of a 100 plate slid forward. Adding a GSK is a sure way to roast the engine.

Last time i looked at gauges i checked out the Autometer Ultra Lite series in the tri pod mount on the A pillar. I priced everything idividually on the summit website and it was around $300 even. Anyone know of anywhere cheaper?

Do I get mechanical or electric gauges?
For tranny should I get?
100-250*
or
140-280
Boost I want 0-60psi
And pyro should I do
0-1600*
or
0-2000*
I think I remember Lance telling me a while back he rarely seen a move in his tranny gauge under 100* and to just 140-280* gauge but can't remember..

Heres what I just did for pricing on the summit site still not a bad price..

ATM-17201 Gauge Pod, Full Pillar, Triple 2 1/16 in., Black ABS, Dodge Ram, Each $59.95 $59.95
ATM-4305 Gauge, Ultra-Lite, Boost Pressure, 0-60 psi, 2 1/16 in., Analog, Mechanical, Each $46.95 $46.95
ATM-4344 Gauge, Ultra-Lite, Pyrometer, 0-1,600 Degrees F, 2 1/16 in., Analog, Electrical, Each $119.95 $119.95
ATM-4357 Gauge, Ultra-Lite, Transmission Temperature, 100-250 Degrees F, 2 1/16 in., Analog, Electrical, Each $42.95 $42.95

My experience with Summit is always fair pricing. Have you checked with any vendors that advertise here?
Boost is mechanical, the others are electric. As far as range, I took a friend's suggestion and got the 2000° pyro, & 60 lb boost. I took the lower temp trans gauge
