4" in straight pipe
4" in straight pipe
hey guys and gals,
i recently installed a 4" in straight pipe turbo back system on my truck and have a question. it sounds awesome in the cab but outside the cab it sounds like there is some paper in the pipe flutering atleast that what it sounds like to me. is that normal or did i do something wrong during the install? i also have a 4" aero turbine to put in but i don't know if i want to. anyone have any ideas? thanks.

sounds like you have a leak somewhere, look at all the places that it's clamped/welded, there should be some black soot coming out from around the leaking spot, easy to find, then just adjust any clamps to seal better, or if welded, just weld up the leaking spot(s), hope this helps, Dusty
i agree i bet there is a leak in the pipe somewhere i've seen and heard in other trucks like my old ford gaser i have so i would check that out first. and also i was thinking about getting a 4 inch exhaust on my truck soon. so i was wondering do you really like it and can you tell any power difference, is it really that much louder? and any other details you might want to throw in there.
thanks
thanks
i will look for a leak.
chevy; yes it is louder but i don't think it is that much louder than stock straight piped. i have no cat. yes there is a seat of the pants power increase. before i could only break the 4 tires loose around corners and now i can peel'em from a stand still and my mileage is up too. it is a worthwhile upgrade.
