Question 4" Megamouth Down Tube - Q

Are there any data available for this product? http://store.dieseltruckresource.com/4cometubadop.html

Sounds like it makes sense but, I hate to give up $400 +/- without some supportive inforamtion.

Man....this is a great concept....but honestly....your HX-35 is lacking if you really get serious with big sticks and such....i would hold the money and put it tward a new turbo and HX-40 DP (Any bigger aftermarket turbo has 4" outlet). If you are happy with just an EZ and 275's(or 1.5-2's)....might be worth the go.....could go either way.....i dont think you would be dissapointed with it....just is it worth it for what you are doing....$400.00 could go a long way for a new turbo!!!!!

Dan

Edit: Didnt see your sig......yeah...go with a new turbo!

Yea Its a good thing for a stock truck to minor mods, but your setup you should just get a bigger turbo and youll go straight to a 4 inch down pipe. The comp box alone puts the hx 35 to it limits on 3x5, so if you play around on 5x5 plus your stix your pushing your turbo pretty hard. Bigger turbos are more money but it will be more effiecent to burn your fuel and help in the long run.

I'm going to run it to help me get to 450 cool hp with the stock turbo.

Here's the plan:

Drag box
Helix 2 or 3 cam
stage 5 jammers
mega mouth down pipe to 4" straight

Remember the cam is the key. It lets the engine breathe a lot better allowing the turbo to provide more power at lower boost.

I wish they just offered the elbow in a 4". The elbow they offer still necks down to 3". I can fab my own 4" down pipe.

You know, with a little time and effort, you could probably build that elbow. I think it's a great concept and I believe that it would be beneficial. But I really don't think that it's worth $400. You could buy a complete new 4" exhaust system for cheaper than that.

You could send your turbo away and get it upgraded to a 60mm front wheel for $400 or less.....

It ran me $210 for the wheel and they charge another $30-70 for machining, but if you have any lathe experience and access to one its not too hard to machine it and assemble yourself.

You would be pushing the limits of good taste. Man! You spent all this money on a Drag Comp ($625), HR VP-44($1600), RV275's($300), 5"($500+), Stage II AFE ($350).....but you are cheesing out on the turbo....why? Do yourself a favor and get that HX-35 out of there for a bigger turbo! You got all this killer fuel....but no air.....I would go back to my orignal statement....Save your money and put it tward a bigger turbo when you can.......HTB2!!!!!!!!! Trust me....you will love it!!!!!!!!! hahahah!
