4" Magnflow exhaust, opinons wanted

Shopping around for a 4" exhaust today and the best price I found was for a Magnaflow SS turbo back system. It was quite a bit cheaper than other SS systems and less than most aluminized systems. Any comments? Anyone have one?

It was recommonded to me as I asked for the quietest system and this was what was recommended.

I had one on my other truck. Overall it was a good system for the money however the down pipe was not 4" so.... I did not use the down pipe with the twins so it didnt matter to me.

Yes I did notice that the dp is only 3.5". I figured for the price if I ever outgrow it and need more flow I'd put a megamouth on.

Thanks for the comments.

Welding on hangers isn't a big deal for me as I have a mig, clamping them makes it easier if it needs to be moved later. The 10yr warrenty is attractive but its twice the price and has to be shipped whereas the Manaflow is in stock in town. I think maybe I need to go look at the Manaflow and see what its like.

Is your aluminized or SS? Where did you get it? The price for the Magnaflow was $500 CDN. The prices I've been seeing for most SS sytems has been $800-$1200CDN.

Thats got to be T304 lifetime systems. Those systems are much more expensive than the T409 stainless, they have no Iron in them and will not rust.

I have the Magnaflow 4" SS system on my truck, and have been complimented on the sound. Very reasonable at lower RPMs but it growls when you wind 'er up. Fit and finish is very good. It took us about an hour and a half to cut the old out and hang the new. An extra pair of hands makes it much easier, and for a 12 pack it was cheap help.

XP T409 setup.. Didn't want to pay for the extra HD stainless. If it rusts a little I could care less. Its not a show truck... Got it through a fellow AB chapter member..

Magnaflow glass pack muffler

I just bought a 4" inlet and outlet 20" long SS Manaflow installed $283.00.
A little lounder than stock at idle. But step on it and it really sounds good. It has a non restrictive glass pack design. I was going to go with the straight pipe, put figured I'd play it safe. The muffler will still let me pass the vehicle safety inspections.
2003 2500 5.9L CTD stock with exception of the new muffler.

Just so you know this thread you dragged up is two years old, I'm no longer looking for an exhaust system and some of the info in the earlier threads is probably out of date.

Also you cann't really compare prices on a 2003 system to a 2001 as they are different.
