4 door conversion??

I saw a website awhile back where they took a regular cab 2nd generation truck and stretched it and put 4 doors. Does anyone remember what site or have pictures or had it done?

Oh yea, I would rather have mine done like the red one than the blue one. The blue one just looks funny, now that I have seen the red one. I am going to have to get something done as my 12 yr old daughter is starting to get cramped in the back of the quad cab. A new one is out of the question.

My dad asked how long I was going to keep mine 1 day, I said forever. He laughed.

Cope,

Bayer does trucks like the blue one without the extended cab rear section and they look great. They basically look like mine. His doors are all steel, mine are glass. I'm not sure if the company that did mine is still in business. They were Custom Conversions out of Cleburne Texas, or so I was told.

FWIW, I have seen bayer trucks in person and he does very nice work but as mentioned above, it gets close to 15k when done.

I found mine used. They are out there!!!! Just look hard.

I sold my '01 quad cab for the reason you mentioned. New baby plus dog and wife and other stuff and I needed a bigger cab but didn't want to have a payment. My cab is within 1" of a mega cab. In fact, I bought nerf bars for a mega cab for my truck and they fit nice.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Jason

Jstull,

How is the interior. Is it done in tweed or the plactic to match. Do the rear windows roll up and down and are they power. If the interior is tweed is it all that way or just the rear.

Victor,

The interior is a mess. The front seats are factory and the rear seat looks like a conversion van gone wrong.

I bought a set of front seats out of a 2002 truck and will buy a set without seatbelts for the rears. The rear seats will be factory front seats because there is plenty of room.

The headliner is sagging and needs replaced but I don't know what I will do with that yet.

Door panels look factory and the rear doors have power windows.

Thanks,
Jason

What a sweet looking truck. I love the look.
I'd love to get that done to mine. As we speak I am debating what to do with my truck as I have the same problem....the old quad cab is gettin to small for the kiddies and the new ones are a little too exspensive.
I wonder if there's a company in Canada that does the same thing.
Anyone know?

Canuckville,

Thanks for the compliments.

I know Bayer is in Minnesota which is about the closest one to you that does this.

I bought mine used as I couldn't see the price of the conversion as being worth it. I figured I could sell my 2001 truck and come up with another 5K in cash to get a 4 door 3rd gen. Whereas the conversion was like 15KUSD. I would have loved to keep my '01 but as you said, the cab is small with kids and dogs and it seems like when we travel with the kid, I bring everything in the whole house with me!

Wow .... that white one is just awesome!

Is that red crew cab 'cab only' in the classifieds for sale still ? it was only 2500.00 ....

I would do this over a 3rd gen in a heartbeat!
