4 cranks to start
I have an 01 cummins with the lift pump replaced and just replaced the injector pump from midwest fuel injection. Still having the problem of having to crank 4 to 5 times for it to start cold or hot after it sits a 15 min or more. Dodge is telling me that the injector pump I installed is also bad. According to the diagnostics. Anybody have any suggestions.
Thanks

there is a check valve after the IP that keeps fuel from draining back to the tank (through the return line) when the truck is not running. sounds like the truck is having to build head pressure from the tank to the IP each time you restart the truck...
also, if I remember correctly, there have been issues with low battery voltage not allowing the engine to crank fast enough to light off. that doesn't seem as likely with your symptoms, but who knows!
