3k GSK for xmas

well this is yet another GSK thread....i read up on everything regardign the 3k GSK i dont plan on getting a plate at this point but id like the springs...with my stock setup i cut off at just a hair over 2700rpm..thats ok no complaints

my question is ...ive read some guys mention that it will alter my torque curve?? i'll peak torque later?? makes no sense to me as far as i know NOTHING will change except i'll keep getting full fuel delivery at and a bit beyond 2700rpm correct??

what does the truck sound like at 3000rpm?? what about shifting if i give it some throttle can i get it to shift at 3000?? i should actually be able to get some coupling at that rpm and feel some power right??

All i know is that now my truck is a whole different animal! My transmission never hangs gears anymore, and it is a LOT peppier. It may alter your torque a little because the governor lever arm moves slower up the plate(i had to re adjust mine due to losing a BUNCH of low end power. Got it all back when i adjusted my Governor lever arm. Its definatley a great mod. My stock converter wont let the truck pull to 3k rpm's unless i hold the shifts manually, but it pulls a LOT harder. I have a fuel plate, but if it does anything near what it did on my truck to yours you will love it. As for the sound at 3k RPM's. Its AWESOME!! Sounds like a pulling truck getting ready to take off . They sound MEAN in the higher RPM's. One way or the other, you will definatley feel a little power. It helps to make the best use of the stock copnverter because it will actually fuel past the converters stall speed now . Mine is definatley a whole different animal. Also, your tranny will shift quicker because you wont use near as much pedal to go the same speed you did before, so your TPS is not putting out as many volts, and it shifts a lot sooner, and wont hang any gears(shouldnt anyway). Also, my converter locks a lot sooner; especially under moderate throttle, and i dont have to use my TC lockup switch to pass someone now . You will love it. Also, my truck was harder to start. If yours does this, just back off the springs a couple clicks. Mine starts like it always did now. Have fun We want the end results!

Just do it. You won't regret it. Like 635 said, it's a whole different animal....... and sounds great at 3,000 RPM.
