I voted no but I have aftermarket wheels with less backspacing than the stock wheels. They stick out, which I hate, but they work really well, no rubbing. Also, I have modified the wheel wells.

They don't rub on my truck. The set up is 2" leveling kit and offset wheels.

2" springs, bfg a/t ta ko's, they rub, but I can still manage to get in and out of parking spaces fine without rubbing too badly.

My 315's on AR wheels rub my air dam, that's it. The 315's on 03 stocker 17's rub the control arms pretty bad before full lock. Stock suspsension.

The 01 Sport gasser has no problems with the ones on the AR wheels, also stock suspension.

Stock 2000 aluminum 16x8" wheels with Procomp 317/75 ATs and leveling kit. Rubs upper control arm when turning to locks.

Same as Chris above...but BFG KO A/T's... and 2" front lift.
Added Cetramatic Balancers, with their 1/8" spacers and the rub disappeared!!

my experince is as follows: there are two places "rubbing" can occur. 1) on the control arms due to too wide of a tire and a wheel with too much backspacing. 2) rubbing on the bottom of the fender due to too large of a tire and/or too much offset of a wheel.
with that said i have ran multiple sets of 315's on two sets of wheels. same suspension setup. 2" coil spacer on the front and 2" aal in the rear. first wheels where 16x10's with 4.5" backspacing. these rubbed the bottom of the fender at full lock of steering wheel. that is the only place and time they would rub. second set of wheels which is also my current set is a 16x8 with 5" backspacing. these would not rub at all, anywhere or anytime. with no or minimal lift i believe this is the exact size wheel one needs to run. i know people who have the '01 and '02 factory alloys which i believe are 16x8 with 5.5" backspacing and the 315's would rub the control arms at full lock. so this is my experince and findings. hope it helps you out!

Help a Newbie!

My truck is a '99 2500 with a Cummins engine, short bed, automatic, 4x4.

What would be the largest tire that I could run with no modifications to the truck?
