i want opinions from those who have owned these tires...i am about to order some because they are aggressive relatively cheap and i see them recommended fairly often, but i also heard a rumer that they wear quickly. i have some cheapo $100 walmart specials on the truck now that have worn out in less than 30K and they dont balance well at all...very bad vibrations.
i dont want the same issues with a "cheaper" set of buckshot mudders as well...if i must, i will wait until i can save a few more bucks and go for a set of BFG's in a 315/75R16 size

I have these buckshots on my dually 4x4 i had to run spacers on the rear but i love them. i have about 40k and still have 10-15k more on them. im going to go with this same tire next time.
I just replaced a set of maxxis/buckshots on my truck and cant believe how miserable they actually were. I knew one was out of round causing a vibration at highway speeds. Also the sidewalls are to weak causing the front end to wobble a little. Rim in the tire. I thought the steering box was bad but tightened right up after the tires were gone. The tires were wore out when I bought the truck but the previous owner said they always shook. They had a ton of weights on them! If you really need a mudder I would go BF goodrich or check out the M55s I have seen mentioned on here.
You know, if you want a good, long lasting mud tire for our trucks, we're kind of screwed. But, that's what happens when your motor weighs in at over 1000 pounds......right! If it were me, I'd save up the money and go with either the Cooper Discovery STT's or the Goodyear Wrangler MTR's. The only reason I say the Coopers over the Goodyears is that they are Siped and that will give you much better traction in snowy/icy conditions (if you get any of that). If you have a 4Wheel Parts Wholesalers around where you live, you may want to also check out the Pro Comp mud terrains. They have the best warranty as far as off road protection. You could tear a hunk of your sidewall out with a rock and tell them you were 4wheelin out in the boondocks and they'll still replace it for you. These tires are also siped and prepped for studs. My opinion......

Well to tell you the truth I'm not positive on the milage, but around 20k or so. And yes there is a burnout or 2 on them....
Also I have only rotated and balanced them 3 times and my front end was so out of wack it really ruined my whole passanger side tires. I know, I know I'm a retard. I believe if you take care of them you can get 30k out of them easy.

We have them on our 97 and have about 7K on them. Not enough time to judge wear (no visable yet). As for driving performance, They are smooth going down the road. There is a little noise, but nothing compared to Super Swampers. In all types of off road terrain they are impressive. Mud, loose hills, and hard rock they have been great.
They out perform my friend F-350 gasser with Pro-comp X-terrains. In mud and loose rock hills. I had to pull him out of a mud hole one day and he thought it would be funny to pull me after he got traction. He lost!
