Is it safe to do this. Was going to order them but tst shows that they can only be used with certain plates? Is it okay to go ahead and get them?

 

You should be perfectly fine. Just make sure the governor lever arm is hitting in the right spot on the plate after you put them in(readjust if needed), and have fun. Mr.T has been running this setup for a little while now with no problems.
