ok guys and gals, need help understanding something. i have a almost stock 97 ram 2500 auto 12v. today i was funnin with a friend and put it in N and gave it WOT. my rpm's went all the way up to and a little past 3000. this is what i dont understand i dont have a 3000gsk yet. so how is this posible? its ok with me but just want to know the reason. i was thinking maybe it lets you but not in gear. thax for any help chris

 

under load your stock springs will cut back on fueling at about 2300,with the 3000 springs it will fuel till 3000 under load then start cutting back on fuel.your engine will rev upto and higher than 3000 but it wont do it with full fueling and under load..hope this helps...
