2wd leveling kit?

We just picked up an 01.5 2wd 2500 for my girlfriend. I was wondering what was out there that would lift the front end a little bit.

Thanks

I'm in the midst of raising mine (leveling) with custom springs. If you would like to wait a couple of weeks, I'll post my results (before/after pics) and the info for the parts.

Daystar makes a 2-1/2" front leveling kit, or you can get generic cup bushings from E-BAY...

I noticed a spring in the pic at 4wheelsupply.com for the leveling kit. What is this for? I also read about aftermarket control arms and longer shocks for the 2.5" kit. How much lift in the front would I need to level my truck??? Thanks.

The 2wd can only take about a 1.5" front spacer according to other list members. This leaves enough adjustment for re-align the front end.
Also Daystar recommends special control arms with the 2.5" spacers. They state,"May require aftermarket control arms".
Patiently awaiting the results of piperca's project

The problem is nobody makes an aftermarket control arm for the 2WD 2500. I know for a fact that you can go up to 2.5" with stock CA's and still align it perfectly.

BlueRam01, I'm patiently awaiting the springs. They should have been shipped last Tuesday, so any day now! I received a reply to an email I sent Don Thuren. Don did a similar truck recently, adding 2" over-stock springs, and had no issues with the alignment.

Cool, that's good info to have. If I remember correctly, you were going 1.5 over?
I am going to put a jack under the crossmember tomorrow to see how it'll look "up-a-bit".
Then I need to check the tailgate height to see if it changes much. (the whole reason for considering this is to clear the bottom of my 5er better)
I'm figuring if and when I do this mod the local Dodge dealer can have the job of lining it up. They're pretty good over there with that kind of stuff.

I bought a set of 2-1/2" spacers , but I have'nt put them on yet, but I have a friend who put them on his 2wd 2500 GAS. He did'nt need shocks but I don't know on mine...

If you have a CTD you don't have to worry about control arms, and there is another company that makes springs and control arms....

Check this out!!!

BlueRam01, I'm going to lift the front 2" over-stock. I figure, removing the existing sag, plus the 2" lift, I should be darn near level. I'm adding KYB MonoMax shocks to make sure the sag does not return. I got a part number from KYB, which appears to offer similar specs as the stock shock, only longer.

Good find, I didn't know anybody made CA's for the 2500.
Bad news is it looks like they're made by AIM, and I've heard some bad things about their rear shackle flip and their poor customer service.

You can try going over to pavementsucks and do a search for AIM if y'all are interested. If they're not made by AIM, then find out who makes them and make sure they're a reputable fabricator. Don't know anything about their springs.

I recommend to all of y'all to do your homework when buying a suspension kit. Don't jump into something because 2 or 3 other guys are doing it.....I spent the better part of the last year and a half researching suspension components to get where I am now. Talk to several people who have done this extensively, Don Thuren and David Turbyfill at DT are two good ones to start out with. I'm always willing to share what little I know.

Someone here quoted it right in their signature...."The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten"

The products from AIM are'nt that bad...Although the springs are extremely rough riding, they come of good quality. As for the control arms they have a warranty on them, and I have never had a problem getting someone on the line or dealing w/ my problems.

I around played alot w/ my 98' powerstroke, it had 16" of lift (no body) so I'm not a newcomer when it comes to suspension ( just dodge ). I do reserch before I purchase, but I have'nt had problems w/ AIM, sometimes people post negative remarks when they did'nt do their reserch and they ended up with the wrong application!

So belive none of what you hear and only half of what you see!!!
