A guy I know who just had the ******* replace his vp and lift pump shelled out in the neighborhood of $4000, I wish I would have known but that is what some people pay for a $1500 job. I can tell you that with a $1200 rebuild and tune up to my pump I don't have anywhere near that in mine, maybe $3000 at the most, minus the $2000 of boxes I got laying around here for sale . I would do this again in a heartbeat, do it now and trade or sell your good vp and you will cut a big portion of the cost out.

I guess you can't call a dealer by its real name when they are ripping people off for $2500

Does someone has a list of all the parts you have to change to do this? Also is there some pictures and instruction on the change over? I have been wanting to get rid of my VP44 also.

You need a 12 valve timing case,24v to p-pump injector lines with riser for the air horn, oil line with tight 90 degree fitting for the pump and some small misc. pieces and parts. If you don't already have one, some kind of high pressure fuel supply pump. Basically if you can find a 12 valve engine that is damaged at a junk yard with a pump for cheap, get it and you will have almost everything you need

see if only finding a 12valve in the junkyard was that easy... things would be so much easyer and better. but life not fair like that.. haha i wish it was.
