I HAVE A 99 3500 WITH A COMP WITH OUT THE WIRE HOOKED UP AND TODAY IT DIED 2 TIMES ON THE ROAD AND JUST BEFORE IT WOUKD DIE ALL THE GAUGES WOULD STOP WORKING AND IT WOULDN'T TURN OVER BECAUSE THE BATTERIES WERE DRAINED. I LATER TOOK THE COMP OFF AND IT CRANKED UP BUT I DIDN'T RUN IT LONG ENOUGH O SEE IF IT WOULD DIE AGAIN I THINK IT IS THE ALTENATER BUT WHAT DO YALL THINK

 

Maybe bad fuel pump. Or injection pump? What's the FP on it? Just throwing out ideas.

Sounds electrical with the gauges dieing. not the injection system.

 

I agree. It does sound electrical. A buddy had the same problem on his Powerstroke. Had to replace the entire fuse block. Now it runs like new.
