IF the kdp hasnt decided to migrate at 220k miles... is it already gone? or is there a way to know? prior owner had no paperwork on it. anybody care to share WHEN theyre kdp decided to harikari?

 

I've heard of people going well over 300k without it completely falling out, but there have been a few that fell out before that. Pull the timing cover to check. It isn't all that bad to do, taking out the fan shroud and fan/clutch frees up a whole bunch of room.

 

Speaking from first hand experience ... CHECK IT. It's FREE to check takes about 30 minutes to get to it, KDP knows no bounds (or mileage!).

 

There is no easy way to ckeck, without pulling the cover.

 

here is mine at 280k almost out!

 

our 94 truck thru it's KDP at 348k. just tab it! you won't like being on a road trip and suddenly seeing no oil pres. because you've lost most of your oil.

 

since im dreaming about kdp falling out while im going 70mph to work now... i guess ill tab it!.... its just that im the kinda guy where a bug shield and running boards are a big mod.

 

it's very straight forward. nothing to really mess up. just do it, you'll be glad.
