215's injectors
215's injectors
My truck was originally the 160hp auto version. I was thinking of installing the 215 injectors. I tow alot and dont want heat. Is this about as big as I can safely go. So far I don't have heat issues towing with the #5 plate. Around 800 degrees is average but it will do 1150 floored uphill towing and levels out at that temp when I tested it the first time towing. Thanks
if you got guages and can see how hot you are running then you would be fine. But I would sugest that you go with a bigger injector and slide the plate forward a bit to cool it back down unless you are getting the 215 injectors free or REALLY cheap they would be too small if you wanted more HP down the road. *don't say never* I said that before

I think the 215's would be a good choice with a #5 in your 160 pump. I don't think that will get you to 300 RWHP but it will make a nice and streetable setup without getting too hot. If you find that it gets a little too warm when towing you can nudge the plate back a bit to compensate and/or bump the timing up a bit as the 160 pumps tend to take a bit of timing.
Bigger injectors, especially 370's, are not always the smoothest in the 160 pump and I think EGT's would be way too hot while towing with that combo.
