Changed the oil for the first time in my truck, and I now remember that I did noy like this on the previous cummins of of 5 years ago...oil filter relocation. Does anyone make an oil filter relocation kit for the cummins motor? Sure would like to make this easier to get to without having to tilt to get pass the air conditioning compressor wiring (to avoid the spilling of oil).

While I am here, I must ask this question as well. When changing the oil for the first time (7323 miles), the oil out of the engine did not look too bad. When I got the oil filter out and tilted it to drain in to the oil pan...what was coming out of the oil filter did not look that good.

It was almost green/grey in color and looked sludgey (is this a word?). Any comments on this?

Pretty much everyone sells an oil filter relocation kit that will put it down on the crossmember. Just pick an advertiser and ask for their price.
