2002 dodge 2500 cummins

hey hows it going. i just bought an 02 quad cab short bed cummins 4x4 6 speed. its got a 6 inch stack, k and n air filter and an edge comp in it. i just have a few questions. the guy i bought the truck from told me that when you use the edge comp you hold the button all the way to the right down untill the bars start blinking. then you use the arrows to go up or down on the different settings. i tried messing with it because it didnt seem like it was much faster or anything than my buddys stock cummins. then i just pressed the arrows all the way up to the 5th bar without holding the button to make them blink and it seemed to be a little better. it was atleast blowing a little smoke. Is this normal and does it matter if you are pressing the button and letting the bars blink before you change the settings. also is the edge comp supposed to smoke because my truck hardly smokes at all. i would like to get a little more smoke out of it. sorry if this question sounds stupid but i have no clue how to work the edge. thanks alot for all the help

When you turn on the comp you hold the button to the far left until you see the little red bars. Turn the arrow up or down to the level you want...5x5 is the highest level and will produce the most amount of smoke.

My truck doesn't smoke alot with the comp turned all the way up either. If you want more smoke i'd suggest getting some different injectors. Jammer 5's would be a good start if your on a budget.

Sounds like you have a nice truck

adjust box

To change the fuel setting you just push the button and the light go from one to five with five being the highest. Holding the button down till it blinks is the adjustment for each level as to how soon the fuel comes on. 5x5 would be the highest and 1x1 the lowest. You actually have 25 setting for your box. Have fun!Twogun

when the lights are on (and not blinking) you are adjusting the power level.

when the lights are blinking you are adjusting the responsiveness/smoke amount.

it sounds like you were adjusting the power levels and thats why you felt the truck was 'a little better'.

for more smoke just unplugg your MAP from the block. Is the VP wire tapped?
Your buddy is confused.
To set the power levels just use the arrows from left to right. 1 being lowest setting and 5 highest.
Now to set each level's sub level you set the level you want to adjust, 1-5 then hold in the power button until they start to flash. use the arrows to adjust the sub level from 1-5. then just turn it off and then repeat for the next level.
I have all my sub levels set at 5. It is always on 3x5, that's my favorite level except for racing and lots of smoke it's 5x5.
