2001 H.O. dead pedal. Truck only idles.

Just bought a 2001 H.O. stock truck. I was driving the truck back to michigan from colorado and while I was cruising down the interstate the engine light came on and the truck lost all power. It will only idle. It has 15 psi on the gauge and good oil pressure. My first thought was the lift pump or injection pump failure. I turned the truck off and started it back up and the light was still on but the truck had full power. Does anyone have any ideas what would cause this. I am stuck in omaha nebraska right now until i fix it. Does anyone know of any good shops that could look or fix this in omaha. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

Just checked the code and it said P1693. P1693 Generic fault indicating a fault in the bus or PCM/ECM interface. Would the truck be ok to keep driving this way. would it make it from omaha to michigan.

My crank position sensor caused my engine to die a couple of times going down the hwy. Replaced and no issues since. Definately check for codes.
