2001 5spd Fueling Box

I am looking for mild fueling box for a friend that knows nothing about computers so I said I would research this for him.

I sold my 2nd generation a couple of years ago so I have lost touch with what is good and what isn't. I could tell him all about the 3rd generation but that won't do much good!

I did a few different searches and read through the last 60 days of posts but couldn't really find what I was looking for. He has a 2001 with the 5spd. I all ready have him getting gauges installed but need a box. He uses this pickup strictly for towing. Usually around 10,000 lbs. Currently his mileage is really lacking and that is what he would really like to improve. Simple is probably better and reliability is definately a must.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

i would probley go with the edge ez or the edge comp. the ez is 60 (i think, and if im wrong, somebody will tell you about it) and the comp is 120. or you could run the comp as an ez and tap the wire if he decides he wants more power. my $.02

Thanks a lot guys. That is kinda what I was thinking but wasn't sure if any new was out that would be better. I know the EZ has been around for years and should be a good way for him to go. I would be afraid the comp would be to confusing. Thanks

Say no to Edge!

Just say no to Edge!

Unless your friend enjoys dealing with box failure every couple months, then skip the Edge.

Go with TST or Blue chip. The timing isn't that important.

Not sure what Hohn is talking about. I've been runing a Comp for nearly 2 years with no problems. Typically electronics problems are related to the power source and connection. Not really shure which is his issue but the Edge products that myself and most of my Diesel buddies have been very reliable.

I agree with Morology,I think edge makes great products. And has great customer support if you do have a problem.Just don't ground it to the intake horn!Use the battery!

What do the 2nd generation guys think about quads adjustable 0-35-70 box? I really like my quadzilla for the 3rd gen, but haven't heard either good or bad about the 2nd gen box. It looks like it would be a good option if it is dependable.

Ive seen a couple of posts about people asking about the 2nd gen quadzilla and no one posted on either thread. I would like to see some comments about the box because i have been interested and like the ability to control from the cab.

I too would like to see some info on the quad box. There should be someone out there who is running this.

Quad himself told me to pass on his 2nd gen timing box until he gets his newer box finished. He's working on a killer 2nd gen box (like Edge Attitude), and said that he'd recommend waiting for the new happening.

Oh-- and I'm glad you guys are having luck with your Edge boxes. There's a good chance that they are older ones if they are holding up.

I love my Van AAken box!! Really made a huge difference in the low end. Only problem is that my milage sucks!! Of course it is directly related to the fact that I can't help jammin the skiiny peddle to the floor

If Quad comes up with a box like the Attitude I will have it! I wanted the Edge Juice with Attitude so bad I almost got a 3rd gen!!
