2 inch lift
2 inch lift
Can anyone supply me with the information I need to buy the new front coil springs that will provide a 2 inch lift. I want to level it out but I don't want to use coil spacers. Oh, I guess i would need a new part number for the front shocks, as well. Thanks!
cstmfabman,
A lot of people use Skyjacker D25 coils springs to get the desired leveling effect. You will want shocks that have a 2" longer stroke then the stockers. Can't give you part numbers on those because of all the manufacturers out there. One of the more popular shocks is Bilstein. They list on their website the part numbers for the shocks you would need in a lifted application.
Having said that, there are other ways to do it: Kore suspension is one way. Not cheap (even the lowest kit), but well worth it from what I have read. Another way is to get custom springs from Custom Spring Specialists (??) and then buy shocks. Do a search on this subject (Custom Spring Specialist) and see what comes up. I think member Cowhand had this done and is very happy with it. I believe these springs are not much more than the Skyjacker D25 coils. If I had it to do it over again, I would probably go that route from what I have read on hear about them (CSS).
EDIT: D'oh, just noticed you have a 2wd. Not sure if the Skyjackers or Kore will work, but might be worth a call to the CSS to see what they can do.

Why not use coil spacers if you just want to level it out? You can get cheapies or adjustable (helps with leveling out). you get more compression(can stuff a tire farther) with them because you're not adding coils to the spring. You also retain factory spring rates.
