Dzlpwr I have a lot of the same questions like how much actuall movement does it have I know it moves from the bottom of the plate up towards the top. I would set it by the egt's if to hot move it to the rear of the truck if not move it forward. Which plate do you have? The first time you adjust the lever it is a pita if you remove the afc houseing it gives you more room toughest part is getting a good enough flat head screwdriver to break them loose what I use is a 1/4 flat head bit with a 1/4 box end wrench and get them with it.

Infidel I don't understand How you can loose (useable) power without being able to at least match what I had before. I guess I do not understand all I know about this what would 181's do would they still be to hot I really like the way the truck starts in the morning with these Dv's but I cannot afford a bigger hsg right now unless someone has a used 14 cm wastegated hsg for sale I don't think I would like the lag of the 16 non wastegated I guess I am done rambling on.

You lost useable hp because you are now putting more fuel to it than can burn efficiently. Sort of like running a gasser too rich. You need either more air or less fuel.
I've never run the governor arm to it's limits to see but have had one all the way from where it went under the plate to about half way up.

Infidel I talked to Paul at high tech turbo and he recommended changeing the compressor to what he called a stage III and leave the exhaust as it is. The cost is less than the 14cm wastegated what do you think of doing this do you think it will be enough??

Paul, knows his stuff and is a great guy, if it doesn't work he'll exchange for something that will. A friend just did a deal with Paul where he pulled his turbo and sent it down for improvements, his truck was only down for 2.5 days.
His '98's problem was high egts with EDMs, #10, 18cm non-wastegated and 3k GSK.
The revamped turbo seems to have cured it, cost about $400. I'm not sure all that was done offhand but can find out if you like.

Have you done the mod to the turbo to fit the bigger wheel I have the lathe to do it and was thinking on just ordering the wheel and hsg and do the machineing myself Paul said it was pretty simple. How much heat reduction could I expect remember I am at 7000' in elevation.

It dropped my buddy's max egts about 150°, into the safe zone for him.
He had exactly what you are talking about done, #3 compressor wheel.
Turbo is quite a bit louder with a different tone now.
We're at 4500 feet, but most everything is up from here.
Both of us have also had excellent results with the TAG, http://www.dieselpowerproducts.com/tag but his egt reduction was with the TAG removed. Might get even more with it reinstalled.

Infidel I got the package from ht turbo today and they sent me the wheel for a hx 35 I started to pull my turbo and I looked at the tag and I have a wh1c turbo so the stuff went back and the 131's are back in they want another 50 bucks for the upgrade on the wh1c and I was thinking of just finding a used hx hybrid and then selling what I got getting pretty discusted in all this Is one turbo better than the other? Also I talked to Steve today at ht turbo and he did not think without changeing the exhaust hsg also that I would probably still have heat issues

Infidel I put the stage III kit from htt on the truck today pretty simple mod took about 15 minutes on the lathe took it for a ride and it made a huge difference in the egt's I can still get them over 1200* but I really have to push it to do it. It really added the air to it. I also put the 191's back in and I have the number six plate in all the way forward I need to play with it a little and get it all dialed in.

Great, I knew htt would take care of you.
Turbo louder now?
Seems like the end may be in sight
I personally like the #10 plate better, if you got yours from TST they will swap you for free.

The turbo is considerably louder it sounds great I can easily deal with the way it is now just need to adjust the plate or maybe trade it for a 10 I took my old one and reground it to look similar to a 10 but I have'nt messed with it much.

I put a set of 191 DV's in my 94 Dodge for a few days and could not tell a difference in either smoke or HP I can't really say for boost because I could always peg my 40SPI guage and my egts still stop around 1400* going to add a set of laser cut DV's next week which I heard with a new turbo could net me 85 HP
