15* Timing... O.K.?
15* Timing... O.K.?
My Cummins mechanic says he will bump my timing to 15*, is that O.K. with the future addition of a #10 TST Kit?
What would I expect with 15*?
And how is it done?
Does the pump need to be removed?
Should I go higher?

15* is just fine mine is set at 16.5 and i have had no problems yet, it has been that way for about 2 years now. and no the pump does not need to be removed but you will need the timing set for it it is available from your local tool truck and i believe that mac snap on and matco all carry them although they may need to be special ordered. timing advance will increase throttle response a little and help burn more fuel your throwing at it, it may also make the truck start easier.
Timing should help your MPG, lower your EGT's, and make the truck run better on the top end. Mine is at 16* right now. Lowered my EGT's a lot. Definately a worth while thing to do.
