12v Vallet Switch
12v Vallet Switch
Askin around the other day, If you can wrap the 12vs up to the 400 hp(give or take, im not out to set records) and still keep the mileage, driveability. And i was enlightened to the Vallet Switch that lets ya run at lower HP levels, How do these work exactly? is it on/off, or is it adjustable, so like i wann run 200 hp now, 300 tomorrow or take how the ricers with all 400??
i was going to put one on my truck to help me keep my foot out of the motor so much. i keep putting off droping in the hx 55 and a 0 plate, because i am afraid of snaping off a input shaft again. i figure the valet switch will keep the power of it most of the time.
the valet switch is nothing more than a valve between the intake maifold and the injection pump. if you look at the back of a 7100 you see a small line that goes to the intake manifold. just put some type of valve in it. i have seen everything put in there. i am going to run a cheap brass needle valve in mine. but you can buy kits to do it also. mike

The vallet unit goes in the AFC line from the intake manifold or plenum, it closes off or reduces the amount of boost going to the AFC which in turn reduces the amount of fuel going through the inj. system. Thus lowers the power level of the engine.
I use a brass needle valve to reduce the power for slick driving conditions.
Hope this helps.

All a valet switch does is block off the boost to the AFC so the Gov arm hits the AFC arm instead of the plate, that is were the limit is, on my truck is drops the hp down about 200 or so!
