12V/NV5600 Swap?

Is it possible to swap a NV5600 into a 12V that came with an automatic? I know there would be alot of parts to get off a donor vehicle and it would cost more than just building the auto but I have my reasons. I just want to know if it would physically fit in there and bolt up to the motor, also do you think the transmission crossmember off a donor vehicle would fit in the 12V?

Sure would!

Unless you get lucky and can find a parts truck to get all the necessary pieces off of at once, you will probably be better off putting that into a nice automatic.

u can do a nv4500 swap for around $2500. But the nv5600 is more expensive and harder to find parts for so that swap would probably run 4000+

Can the 4500 hold up to the same abuse as the 5600? That was my main reason for the larger of the two, I though the 5600 was basically bulletproof with the right clutch, and the 4500 needed quite a few parts like an auto.

I trashed my 5600 twice in one year, bullet proof? no, or I shoot a bigger gun than most.

The Nv5600 is nice as far as the even 500 rpm difference between the gears- evenly spread out so you can always run the rpms you want. The 4500's have an issue with the 5th gear nut backing off, but there's a fix. The five speeds have a rpm difference from 3rd to 4th.

You've got a good DTT man in Norfolk and if you're not looking for a bunch of billet, they start at $3600

if u tow get the 6 spd, but otherwise the 5spd is great, especially if u have 3.55 gears. The gap between 3rd and 4th kinda sucks on my truck since I have 4.10's, but i've learned to drive around it.
