12v injector install
Can somebody point me in the direction of some instructions to install injectors on a 12 valve? I have installed injectors in 24v's before but I have never worked on a 12v much. Shouldn't be too hard but I would like to have some instructions to go by. Thanks
These are some basic instructions, but you get the idea.
The main point is cleanliness. Since these are not under the valve covers, there is alot of silt and dirt that can fall into the injector bore and mess up your day. I power washed the engine and used an air hose to clean out the injector area. Also the overflow return line washers are very small and need to be clean as well.
As for the fuel lines, I just disconnected all injectors and then used dowels to hold them up out of the way under the bundles. They cross between cylinders and I just shoved a dowel under the lines to hole them up.
Having the nut to put on the injector head and using a prybar worked best for me. It took about 2 hours with cleanup etc to do it.

i always have a chilton or haynes manual with me when i work on mine or my friends we put in some 90hp ddps last friday first time for me to install 12v sticks install was easy deffanitly get a nut to screw on the tops of them helps out alot the only problem i had was i slightly bend the return line and #3 and 4 screws were a pain to start and i kept dropping the horseshoe washers but i took the fuel lines and the return lines completly off so i would have more room also just do one injector at a time and tourge them correctly 44ft lbs if i remember corectly and the injectors are a 15/16 i think

Thanks for the replys guys, we got it done friday nite. He put some used 80 hp Bully Dog Injectors in it. He bought them off ebay for around 300 i believe. Has any body run these injectors?
His truck is a 95 5-spd with just the fuel plate out and now these injectors. He is kinda disapointed in how it performs. He figured it would smoke much more and have alot more power. But I told him that he needs to have some other mods done to really take full advantage of what the injectors can do for him.
I told him that he needs to get a 4k gsk kit, get his timing advanced, gut the afc, bigger dv's, and get a bigger charger on it. And prolly put a plate back in the pump like a 0 or something.
Am I on the right track with this? These 12 valves are kinda new to me as I only have experience with 24 valves and CR's. I know he will need other supporting mods like valve springs, lift pump, studs, HG. Gauges are on the way.
