045 DVs

Hi all, I have a commercial 6BT 210hp/520ft/lb with a 10 plate in according to TST website it only adds 20hp and 110ft/lbs I always wondered how big a part the unknown DVs played in this. Today I pulled the injectors and therefore it was a good time to see what DVs were in, turns out they are 045s does anyone know where these fit in the scheme of things. I do have a 180hp Dodge moter for parts so have access to some 181s, I did a side by side comparison and the flute in the 181s looks much bigger than my 045s. So are 045s similar to 131s? how much power/TQ will they add? will it be a good idea to fit them?

Pictures will help a lot to determine how well they will work.

That is an iteresting dv?
They don't have a collar like a 131, 181, etc. The collar area looks closer to a full cut or lazer cut.
131 like seat.
The downfall I see is the thickness and there for lack of depth in the flutes of the retraction piston. The 181 has more room to flow between the holder and the piston.
I have never seen the retraction piston have that extended top. The hole in the center doesn't go through I assume, that is the way it looks from the pics? The spring that goes on top of the retraction piston the same?
Put these retraction pistons in the 181 holder and tell us how it goes. If you don't I will be your tester.

Those look like the DV's out of a P3000 pump (that is what I was told it is by the numbers on the plate) . I just took one apart like that, it came off of a 5.9 out of a ford truck/bus. The holders, barrell'r and plungers are differant as well on the one I have. The hole does goe all the way through, there is a spring and check ball inside of the DV according to the Bosch manual I have.

I have no idea what a P3000 looks like but the 045s came out of a pump that looks identical to a 180hp P7100 dodge pump that I have at least externally.
The inside of the barrels is exactly the same size as the DV are interchangeable and a very tight fit, also the outside diameter of the barrels are the same at the widest point even though they have a different profile. The springs are the same length but one has 8 coils and the other 9. I don't want to swap them over and try if they might damage the pump.

They look very similar, the biggest visual difference there is, is that the 7100 has soft plugs on the bottom of the pump, but the 3000 has a flat plate held on by bolts. If you can take a look and let me know what it looks like, I am curious. On mine the DV holders will not interchange, the threaded portion is bigger than the 7100 holders. The DV dimensions themselves are the same as the ones out of my 7100 pumps except for the “stem” on the top of the valve.

Not sure about the soft plugs, its dark here but I took a look and can't see any difference between my commercial P pump and the dodge P7100. I took a couple more pics of the DV sockets though to see the difference and inside the socket looks different. The bit you screw off is taller on the dodge one, it seems like it has the bit that is on top of the 045 DV built into it.
!st pic is the commercial. 2nd pic is dodge . 3rd pic the dodge part is on the left.
