04 turbo fit a 12valve

As far as I know, the exhaust flanges are the same. My question is why? The 04's come with an HY35 with I believe a 14cm housing on them. Good to maybe 320-350hp and 30-35psi. After that they severly restrict your top end and the EGT's get out of control rapidly. I think the 04's also have a full 4" exhaust instead of having it neck down to 3" off the turbo.

I need a turbo for a truck we just bought to get it running and see if the motor is good on it. Right now it is turboless and we are only planning on using it for like a week until I order a larger single. And I have access to this turbo fairly cheap. But if you or anyone you know has a Hx Hy or a wh1c that would be even better.

Does the turbo have an electronic connection? I can't remember when cummins put on a variable guide vane inlet on the 5.9 engine. If you don't throw lots of fuel at the turbo it will work. I ran mine at 400rwhp for over 100000miles. It was toast when I removed it. The hardest thing on a turbo is not letting it cool down below the 350deg F mark before shutting off the truck.
