I have a friend who has an 02 with a five-speed. He is looking at doing some type of performance upgrade, his truck is bone-stock. What suggestions do you guys have? What would be the best deal for the least amount of money. Truck is a daily driver and hauls heavy loads occasionly. Thanks for the help guys.

 

I would consider something like an Edge EZ and some Mach 1.6 injectors. This combo is an awesome towing setup and the stock turbo will be fine.

Do what Doug said. I'd also suggest as a "premium" version of what he recommended to go with a Smarty Programmer and some Mach 1.6 injectors.

The Smarty is a little more versatile than the EZ and pulls harder on the bottom.

That said, the EZ is no slouch and will yank around that trailer like a rag doll, especially with those injectors helping things.

van Aaken rather than EZ. You will see a much better gain with the VA over the Edge and it cost less to.

 

I like the VanAaken and 1.6 combo a lot. Fun to drive and tows like a beast. He should save up for a clutch upgrade though, she won't last too long once he starts romping on it.

every one has their opinion...but i have an 02 with just a FASS pump, 4 inch exaust and a comp....and it runs awsome....i would suggest that
