Strait from the web page:
What makes the Dolmette unique in engineering terms is its 24-cylinder 2-stroke power plant. Nothing quite like it has been seen before. The combined power of 24 chainsaw engines is fed into to a 5-speed Harley-Davidson transmission by a series of twelve toothed belts.

Whatever trips their triggers, i guess. Personally, what a waste of time and resources.

Well,,,,,,,,,, I just watched the episode of American Chopper where they built a custom chopper using one of those Dixie Lawn Mower engines,,,,,,,,,,

Can you imagine what that thing must sound like?

I still think I'll stick with my 74 cubic inch Shovel,,,,,,,,

That's gotta sound awful!

edit- I mean the German abberation. From what I could hear of the Dixie Chopper bike on TV it sounded pretty good. Not lopey like a Harley, more like a Jap cuiser bike with loud pipes.

It actually sounded alright considering. Not quie a chopper sound, but not a lawn mower sound either. I'm thinking of putting an exhaust on our Deere lawn mower. What do yall think?

I straight piped our lawn mower when I was a kid. My dad made me put the muffler back on after he heard it - what a killjoy! Street elbow to a 3" section of pipe, it shot out a blue flame at dusk.

here is what gets my lawn mowed! 14 horse murray with scallop piant job and harley pipes! I got the mower for free, from my sister and fixed the front axle, pianted it,and dueled it out. its not real load, I still have the baffles in the pipes, but my wife says its loud!lol she will not mow with it, it mows like a new one. I got bar tires and weights for the winter and a front blade. this is the best free-be I own! not my kid on it, a friends< he likes it!

For use in the Dolmette the engines were tuned and tweaked to deliver 5.2 kW of power (7.1 PS) at 10,000 rpm. Maximum torque delivery is 5.5 Nm at 7,750 rpm. When all 24 are combined, the result is a 24-cylinder power plant with a total displacement of 1.9 litres, a power output of 125 kW (170 PS) and 130 Nm of torque at the centrifugal clutches

The measure of power is a little different on that side of the world

Total power output is 167.627 horsepower
